B-Side Grill Logo Redesign

For this project I redesigned a local restaurant's logo and branding! B-Side Grill is a small restaurant based in New Paltz. It is a very heavily themed restaurant, it's based around old music CDs with a very retro and nostalgic feel to all of their branding. That being said they have a very standard and underdeveloped logo that doesn't reflect the rest of their physical restaurant which feels much more refined and has such a unique vibe. And so I took it upon myself to give this logo, and some of their other branding, a touch up to reflect how they theme their establishment.

Iterations & Progression

You can see here my early progress on the branding and menu example. I knew that I wanted this more retro and three dimensional feel to the logo while at the same time implementing the existing brand identity they had in a more professional way.

Final Logos

Below you can see my final outcome for the logo! I made both a full color logo and a black and white logo for multiple use cases. I used the existing imagery in the fork/knife and the CD but transormed them to all mesh together rather than feeling seperate like in the original. I used 3D techniques to make the text stand out from the background and give it that retro feel. I also added a small steam icon above the Grill to sell that this was a restaurant. This logo carries the essence of the establishment in a flashier way!

Branding Applications

From here I took the logo that I made and alligned it to their branding! I made a mockup for a mug people could buy and a page of their menu all with the new logo and style.

As a regular to this restaurant the new branding I've provided feels much more in line with their whole vibe and I would love to see this embraced by them to fit their establishment!
